DeepSeek sparks AI buzz

This week, DeepSeek—a breakthrough from a Chinese AI company—has taken centre stage with its ability to process real-time data and make actionable decisions on the fly. Unlike language AI models like ChatGPT and Perplexity, which excels at generating text, DeepSeek specialises in complex data analysis and automation. It is already being used in supply chains to predict disruptions and reroute logistics in seconds. The launch of it’s R1 model has already caused a dip in the share price of big AI names like NVIDIA, raising doubts about the pricing power of AI.
