Can the US keep up the pace?

The earnings from US companies have surged against the rest of the world for the last 15 years. The chart below shows an impressive trajectory, with trailing 12-month earnings from US companies hitting record highs compared to their global peers.

With the inauguration of Trump this week, it will be interesting to see whether the US can maintain this remarkable momentum in earnings growth.
