Tariff tantrum triggers import binge for Americans…

The US trade deficit blew out to a record in March as Americans rushed to stock up on imported goods ahead of new tariffs.

Qualitas included this chart in their presentation to the Macquarie conference, which shows a sharp 24% jump in off-the-plan apartment prices per square metre in Q4 2024. Prices are now more than double what they were in 2018, as developers begin to pass on surging construction costs.
