Gold takes silver

Central banks are loading up on gold—driven by record-level purchases and soaring prices. For the first time since the introduction of the euro, gold has overtaken the euro as the world’s second most important reserve asset (after the US dollar).

A broker’s trip to a mine site turned up this gem: a bin labelled “Dingo Sticks”, helpfully noting that “carrying sticks can provide an extra deterrent to dingo interactions.”
